Lennard Bonapart, MSc

Medical journalist in the Netherlands for healthcare and science

A medical story needs to be accurate and compelling. I combine more than twenty years of journalistic experience with a background in medical biology, writing for media, publishers and healthcare organisations.

Medical journalism

Complex evidence told clearly and humanely

I interview physicians, researchers, executives and patients about developments that matter. The science receives the space it deserves while the story remains accessible and concrete.

My work ranges from news interviews and congress reporting to in-depth articles, profiles and long reads. Each piece is structured around a clear editorial question and written for its intended audience.

01

Interviews and profiles

Well-prepared conversations that make room for expertise, personal experience and an unexpected perspective.

02

In-depth articles

Medical and scientific subjects explained with context, source checking and journalistic rigour.

03

Long reads and features

Long-form work for magazines, professional media and organisations that want to explore a subject thoroughly.

Approach

From research question to publication-ready story

Before starting, I clarify the audience, central question and editorial form. I then study the sources, prepare interviews carefully and find the line that carries the story.

Clients receive a carefully written, fact-checkable and publication-ready text. When appropriate, I collaborate with editors, photographers and designers.

For larger multidisciplinary productions, I work through Bonapart Media.
